Introduction
"An enhanced and improved Sunniside Gardens that would help raise the profile of the City Centre and become a focus for regeneration activity in the wider Sunniside area".
"It is considered desirable that the essential qualities of the Gardens be sustained into the 21st century but expressed, perhaps, in a more modern idiom".
Utilising the above concepts has led RLD to design a contemporary place for the City and the area. It is one that will help restore confidence to Sunniside and assist the wider regeneration of Sunderland.
